January 31, 2016 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm| $100 - $120
Due to the cyclone our pastel workshop is rescheduled for Sunday, January 31th from 10:30am to 4pm if we are in Code Yellow or better. If you are registered for this workshop and cannot come on Sunday please contact HARTZ via email or phone.
This workshop has 3 spots open. If you would like to attend please let us know via email or purchase a ticket buy clicking on the link below. $100 for HARTZ members and $120 for non members.
About the Workshop
Helen was awarded Highly Commended in the 2015 Kimberley Art Awards, was a finalist in the 2015 Perth Royal Show and the 2014 Clifton’s Annual Art Prize WA finalist. Helen sold her entry for the 2015 Hedland Art Awards within minutes of the opening. This up and coming artist is one to watch and learn from!
The purpose of the workshop is to experiment, have fun, and get motivated for HARTZibald 2016! No prior experience in pastels or drawing is necessary. Your paper and portrait subjects will be prepared so that the class can learn at the same pace. You will learn blending and mark making techniques to help master how to draw and paint using soft pastels.

Below is information relevant to workshop participants.
The materials that we will use in class will be collected at the end of the workshop and will be available for use during Wednesday Open Studio (which resumes February 3, 6-8pm at the HARTZ studio). However for those interested, Helen has 3 sets for sale for $43. The set includes 5 Schminke flesh tone pastels, 4 pastel pencils and 1 Bodyshop sharpener. If you would like to buy a set, please bring the exact cash amount as Helen will not have change.
Helen intends to start the class exactly at 9:30am as we have a lot to get through! She suggests we arrive 10/15mins before the start time so we can start on the dot.
The workshop will meet at Sealanes, Lot 4 No.2 Richardson Rd, Port Hedland WA 6722. This is at the end of the main street, Wedge St., just to the left. It is near the park, right on the foreshore by the tugs and fishing ramp.
